Access to the Westeinderplassen unloading area – Netherlands
Context
In the recreation and water sports area of Westeinderplassen, in Aalsmeer, it was necessary to regulate vehicle access to preserve a safe pedestrian zone serving visitors, the restaurant, and sports activities. The goal was to allow entry exclusively to authorized vehicles for loading and unloading operations, keeping the area beyond the gate completely car-free.
Solution
For access control, a Spartacus 200/600 automatic bollard was installed, integrated into a traffic management system that allows passage only to authorized service vehicles, such as restaurant delivery vehicles.
Technological pluses
• High intensity of use, with a capacity of up to 3,500 cycles per day, ideal for regulated traffic contexts.
• Traffic light management for clear and safe vehicle flow management.
• Safety magnetic loops that prevent the bollard from rising when vehicles are present, reducing the risk of impacts.
Result
An effective traffic management and access control system that limits transit to authorized loading and unloading vehicles only, while simultaneously guaranteeing safety, order, and full pedestrian usability of the recreational area.
