Aker Brygge – Oslo, Norway

URBAN
Case Study |  Aker Brygge – Oslo, Norway

Context

Aker Brygge is one of the busiest areas of Oslo, directly overlooking the sea and characterized by public spaces, restaurants, and a high pedestrian presence. The project required a solution capable of guaranteeing continuous operational safety, resistance to marine environmental conditions, and maximum protection for users and vehicles.

Road overlooking the Oslo sea, with 3 raised road bollards

Solution

Rise installed 3 Spartacus 200/600 I AL automatic bollards and 2 Spartacus 200/600 SA I semi-automatic bollards.
At the client's request, considering the exposure to the marine environment, the foundation boxes were made entirely of AISI 316 stainless steel, to ensure high resistance to corrosion and long-term durability.

Technological pluses: why they make the difference

Automatic lowering in case of power failure: ensures continuous access even in the event of a blackout, avoiding passage blockage and ensuring the transit of authorized and emergency vehicles.
Integrated heater for cold areas: ensures the correct operation of the bollards even at the low temperatures typical of the Norwegian climate, preventing freezing and malfunctions.
Signaling buzzer: acoustically signals the movement of the bollards, increasing the perception of the system and improving safety for pedestrians and drivers.
Magnetic loops and presence radar: detect approaching or transiting vehicles, preventing the bollards from rising and reducing the risk of accidental impacts.

Result

A reliable, safe, and built-to-last access control system, perfectly integrated into a complex urban context and a marine environment like Aker Brygge.
